Highly prominent presence yesterday in Schengen, where the ministers of transport from Germany, France, Luxembourg and the Saarland met to officially open the cross-border test field for autonomous driving in the tri-border region.

The first transnational test field in Europe provides opportunities for industry and research facilities alike to test deployment scenarios and new technologies across borders on all types of roads.

This event, which included a panel discussion, project presentations and live test drives, offered a good opportunity to present initial ideas of the TERMINAL project. With the intention of offering commuters a new transport option by electric and automated minibuses, this project is pursuing concrete goals to improve mobility, especially for commuters.
