CVIS (2006-2010)
CVIS designed, developed, and tested new technologies needed to allow vehicles to communicate with each other and with an infrastructure.
The aim of the project was to create a revolution in mobility for travellers and goods by completely revising the way drivers, vehicles, and goods interact.
In this way, CVIS made an important contribution to increasing road safety and efficiency and reducing the environmental impact of road transport.
FGVT was partner in two sub projects:
- Cooperative Monitoring (http://www.cvisproject.org/en/cvis_subprojects/applications/como/): Development of Algorithms to monitor road friction values from inside vehicles as well as support to application specific protocols.
- Communications and Networking (http://www.cvisproject.org/en/cvis_subprojects/technology/comm/):
Specification, Test and integration of a gateway to access vehicle sensor data.
