Exchange of experience with the Innovation Hub Smart Mobility in Helsinki
Helsinki/Finland, 05th November 2019
Part of the TERMINAL team is currently visiting the Finnish Metropolia University for Applied Sciences in Helsinki. The group travelled to exchange experiences with Oscar Nissen, Director Innovation Hub Smart Mobility, Metropolia AUS, because three autonomous buses are already being tested there in the Sohjoa project: two EZ10s from Easy Mile and one from Navya. At the beginning of the 2020s, buses in Finland are to be able to drive autonomously on public roads, explains Oscar Nissen.
Buses should not be seen as competing with the conventional means of public transport, but rather as complementary. They are intended to enable passengers to cover the last mile, for example from a railway station to their homes.
