FGVT Participates in the 6G Exchange Platform of the Federal Network Agency

Published by psprenger on

The 6G Exchange Platform (AP6G), initiated by the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA), serves as a central forum for expert dialogue and coordination of Germany’s activities in future 6G standardization. The platform aims to strengthen national and international collaboration between science, industry, and public administration, paving the way for the next generation of mobile communication technologies.

Collaboration Between Research, Industry, and Administration

Within the 6G Exchange Platform, experts from various domains regularly come together to discuss technical, regulatory, and organizational aspects of 6G. The platform not only acts as an information hub but also as a strategic instrument to promote German participation in international standardization bodies such as ETSI and 3GPP.

Through this ongoing exchange, synergies are created, technological developments are identified at an early stage, and joint positions are prepared for international standardization efforts. In doing so, the 6G Exchange Platform contributes significantly to strengthening Europe’s technological sovereignty.

FGVT’s Role in the Platform

The FGVT (Research Group for Traffic Telematics) is an active member of this platform, contributing its long-standing expertise in communication-based systems, intelligent transport infrastructure, and future mobility technologies.

FGVT’s participation aims to stay up to date with the latest developments in 6G standardization, both in Germany and internationally, and to maintain close contact with key stakeholders from industry, academia, and public authorities. This involvement allows FGVT to identify emerging technological trends early on and to integrate them into ongoing and future research and development projects.

Joint Commitment to the Future of Communication

By participating in the 6G Exchange Platform, FGVT supports the transfer of knowledge between research and practice and contributes to shaping the future of communication systems – from next-generation mobile networks to intelligent transport systems.
