Mobility of the future – a challenge for people and technology

Published by psprenger on

The question of how we will get around tomorrow is one that concerns science, politics, business and society alike. A recent lecture by the German Transport Science Society (DVWG) on the topic of ‘The current status of autonomous driving in public transport’ offered an exciting insight into current developments.

The numerous project examples and perspectives from research, operations and industry illustrated how dynamically the mobility of the future is developing – and what technical, organisational and social issues are associated with it. Our transport telematics research group was also there and was able to take away valuable ideas for its own work.

Symposium: ‘Mobility of the Future – Challenges for People and Technology’

In just a few days, on Thursday and Friday, we will continue the discussion at our own symposium. Together with the Saarland Ministry of the Environment, Climate, Mobility, Agriculture and Consumer Protection, we will address key questions for the future:

What role does data play in connected mobility?
How can control centres be designed to support automated mobility?
What aspects of acceptance and sustainability are crucial for the success of new mobility solutions?
In four thematic workshops, we will examine and discuss these questions in depth with experts from science, administration and practice.

We look forward to exciting ideas, constructive debates and new perspectives for the mobility of the future.
