The event was organized by the Federal\nMinistries of Economics and Energy (BMWi); Education and Research (BMBF); and Transport\nand Digital Infrastructure (BMVI) and took place in the halls of the Harnack\nHouse, Berlin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"886\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/fgvt.htwsaar.de\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Fachtagung_de-2-886x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-849\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fgvt.htwsaar.de\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Fachtagung_de-2-886x1024.jpg 886w, https:\/\/fgvt.htwsaar.de\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Fachtagung_de-2-260x300.jpg 260w, https:\/\/fgvt.htwsaar.de\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Fachtagung_de-2-768x888.jpg 768w, https:\/\/fgvt.htwsaar.de\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Fachtagung_de-2-1329x1536.jpg 1329w, https:\/\/fgvt.htwsaar.de\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Fachtagung_de-2.jpg 1387w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 886px) 100vw, 886px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The symposium brought together\nmore than 200 participants from public authorities, industry and research. It\nis interesting to note that the concept of autonomous driving expands further\nthan just land vehicles, and autonomous flying attracts more and more players\nnowadays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the first day of the event,\nthe keynotes about general research direction, needs and future were followed\nby interactive group sessioms, where everyone had a chance to contribute to the\nfishbowl discussion. The topics included artificial intelligence, data\ncollection and privacy, public acceptance, and safety issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second symposium day\nbrought on stage both industry giants (Bosch and NVIDIA) and start-ups with\ninnovative ideas, including but not limited to, Deep Natural Anonymization of\nvideo data and cloud-based realtime parking assistance (AIPARK\/Bliq \u2013 Germany\u2019s\ndigital startup of the year 2019). Besides that, Sebastian Stegm\u00fcller from Fraunhofer\nInstitute for Industrial Engineering presented a thorough research on public\nacceptance of robotaxis; and Prof. Dr. Christof B\u00fcskens from the University of\nBremen demonstrated the pricelessness of the mathematics in the autonomous\ndriving research area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u201cResearch and Technology\nfor Autonomous Driving\u201d Symposium was organized under the Federal Action Plan\n\u201cResearch for Autonomous Driving\u201d, launched on June 27, 2019.
