This German research initiative\ninvolves 29 partners &#8211; automobile manufacturers and suppliers, electronics,\ntelecommunications and software companies, as well as research institutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the aim of making the traffic of the future safer and\nmore fluid, the partners are jointly developing new driver assistance systems,\ninformation technologies and solutions for efficient traffic management and\nvehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication in a four-year\nresearch project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AKTIV consists of 3 sub-projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Traffic Management<\/li><li>Active Safety<\/li><li>Cooperative Cars<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Goals<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>For the road traffic of the future, we need new driver\nassistance and traffic management systems,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>which increase safety for all road users,<\/li><li>which relieve the driver and bring him\nefficiently to his destination,<\/li><li>which avoid traffic jams and make better use of\nthe roads,<\/li><li>which make economic and ecological sense and are\nlegally secured<\/li><li>which are accepted by the companies and the\nuser.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the overall initiative AKTIV, the sub-project\nAKTIV-AS (Active Safety) promotes developments with a clear focus on\nsafety-relevant applications. At the same time, the sub-project AKTIV-VM\n(Traffic Management) concentrates on technologies that contribute to increasing\nthe efficiency of the road network. In the sub-project CoCar the suitability of\ncellular mobile radio technologies for cooperative vehicle applications (C2C\nand C2I) is investigated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All projects together give an outlook on how intelligent\nvehicles, and thus also traffic systems, could look like in the future. The\nplanned combination of research and practical testing in AKTIV will make a\nsignificant contribution to securing mobility and maintaining Germany as a\ntechnology location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">AKTIV partners<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>In the three sub-projects of AKTIV, 29 partners from the\nautomotive, supplier, electronics and telecommunications industries as well as\nsoftware companies and research institutes cooperate. In addition, numerous\nuniversities and research institutes as well as small and medium-sized\nenterprises are involved as subcontractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Contribution FGVT<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>FGVT is involved in the AKTIV-VM project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FGVT&nbsp; is responsible\nfor the specification of a Road Side Unit (RSU) for communication with passing\nvehicles (frontend communication) and connected service and control centers\n(backend communication). Frontend communication is based on existing and future\nstandards, in particular IEEE 802.11p and IEEE P1609.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, FGVT is responsible for the setup and operation\nof the RSU demonstrator systems and test vehicles in the test field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Project\nduration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>01.09.2006 bis&nbsp;31.12.2010<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a>Project<\/a><strong> <\/strong>partner<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Adam Opel GmbH, BMW AG, DDG \u2013\nGesellschaft f\u00fcr Verkehrsdaten mbH, Ford Forschungszentrum Aachen GmbH,\nHochschule f\u00fcr Technik und Wirtschaft des Saarlandes (HTW), IBEO Automobile\nSensor GmbH, Institut f\u00fcr Automation und Kommunikation e.V.
