The aim of\nthe project is to reduce the number of road accidents in the EU by 50% within\nthe next ten years, especially those involving serious injuries and deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8218;Preventive\nSafety&#8216; means, that road users are constantly protected by systems permanently\nexamining their surroundings for immediate dangers. Depending on the importance\nand predictability of a hazard, the driver is warned accordingly. In many cases, the danger was already detected before\nthe accident, but this valuable information was lost for subsequent vehicles because\nit is not communicated to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of\nWILLWARN is to detect a possible danger using on-board sensors (&#8222;off the\nshelf&#8220;), such as ABS\/ASR, and to communicate this information to vehicles\nmoving directly to the source of the danger.
